Leeds Indie Food Festival 2018 launch

Leeds Indie Food festival is back again for a 19-day celebration of Leeds’ fantastic independent food and drink scene. Funded by Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) and Leeds City Council the festival is a showcase of the ever-growing community of independent businesses.

More importantly £1 from every Festival Passport (used to gain discounts and priority access to certain events) will be donated to Action Against Hunger, a charity which works with chefs and restaurants across the UK in order to raise funds to support their work to end child malnutrition in over 49 countries around the world.

Leeds Indie Food festival gets bigger and better each year, reflecting the innovation and ambition of the event but also the amazing, ever-increasing wealth of food and drink which is available in the city, with independent businesses providing a key ingredient in that culinary offer

Andrew Cooper, Chief Executive of LeedsBID

As with previous years, I’m proud to be hosting the launch event for the festival which will be held at Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen on the 10th April. I’ll be talking to representatives from LeedsBID and Leeds City Council as well as independent businesses about the current state of the food and drink scene. This is always a good opportunity to get an insight into what’s being done to invest in and improve the expanding food and drink culture in our city, along with meeting the people that make it happen.
